Touring Pakistan & the hosts West Indies, both are in the unpredictable phase of their cricketing tenure. Although the 1st test match has been very much disturbed by Bad Light & Rain, but sometimes these things happens for the goodness of one or the other.
Where This Test Match Stands Right Now?
A win or loss from here for either side will be no more then a miracle as far as test cricket is concern, but looking at the unpredictable nature of both teams it will not be a surprise if either team wins or loses this match out of nothing.
At Stumps on day-3, Pakistan are still 85 runs behind with Cool & Calm Misbah & under-rated Asad Shafiq still on the crease and both have the ability to take away WI out of this match. Weather forecast for the last 2 days is somehow very good and half hour early start on last two days can be effective in producing some positive results for either side:
If we get a complete 4th day’s play with additional half hour which means 96 overs at least in the day. Pakistan is 85 runs behind, If Misbah & Asad manages to extend their partnership till the end of 1st session then Pakistan will be able to match the hosts score, after lunch Pakistan should come out with positive approach and score some quick runs and if we have Misbah with Asad & Sarfaraz then we can say we will be able to extend our lead to somewhere near around 110-120. Pakistan should carry on and bat and leave 15 to 16 overs for Windies with a lead of 200 then we can say Pakistan will be in a position to win this test match considering the pitch conditions on Day-5.
WI are just 10 balls away from the new ball and they can create problems for Pakistan with the new ball, if in case Pakistan collapsed with new ball and WI manages to get a lead of 35 to 40 runs & bat throughout the day to extend there lead somewhere near 275 then they can create problems for Pakistan on Day-5 with Bishoo factor.
All I can say how both team manages to read the situation well and how they can achieve something out of nothing. A victory for either teams will be a great moral booster for both teams and a win right at the start of series after a rain affected match will be a memorable achievement.
