Colin Ingram (44 off 27) and all-round Rashid Khan powered Kabul Zwanan into the finals of the Afghanistan Premier League as they edged Paktia Panthers by a mammoth 90 runs.
Opting to bat first, Kabul lost the wicket of the dangerous Luke Ronchi early on in the innings. Wayne Parnell was promoted up the order once again but this time he couldn’t fire. He was caught brilliantly by Calum Macloed at deep square leg off Azmatullah Omarzai’s bowling.
The star from the previous game, Colin Ingram, continued his decent run as he scored 44 off 27 balls, including five boundaries and two maximums. Laurie Evans chipped in with 31 off 21 balls while Rashid Khan played a little cameo of 19-ball 35. Kabul Zwanan got the final score of 192 which was decent enough given their bowling stocks.
In reply, Kabul Zwanan struck early as Mohammad Shahzad opted for an aggressive shot but found the fielder at deep mid-wicket. Javed Ahmadi then removed Shahzad’s opening partner, Cameron Delport who tried to clear the long-on boundary but found the fielder.
Rashid Khan picked up four wickets for only 20 runs, two of which included Gurbaz and Samiullah Shenwari. Shahid Afridi was the top-scorer with 27 runs off 16 balls but Muslim Musa ended his stay at the crease as Panthers were bowled out for 102.
Rashid Khan was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
Apart from all this, one of the best moment of the match was The Pupil-Master contest at the Afghanistan Premier League between Shahid Khan Afridi vs Rashid Khan.
