Aguero becomes top-scoring non-European player in the Premier League history

Before this match, Sergio Kun Aguero with 123 goals was just one goal behind a Premier League record. Manchester City striker set a record in the first half of the match against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium and overtaken former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke. He is now the highest non-European goal scorer in the Premier League history. In the 24th minute, Aguero rounded Simon Mignolet and gave City a 1-0 lead over Liverpool. Lately, Manchester City washed out Liverpool by 5-0. Along with Aguero, Dwight Yorke 123, Didier Drogba 104 and Emmanuel Adebayor 97, are the prominent non-European scorers in the Premier League.

Argentinian striker joined Manchester City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, and has helped the Citizens to win two Premier League titles.

Aguero, however has a great scoring record against Liverpool in particular. He has now scored in all six Premier League home games played against Liverpool.

He was on the bench in the last game against Bournemouth before the international break. There was also some rumors that Aguero could look to leave Manchester City if they succeeded in signing Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, who would likely compete for his place up front. But sill, Aguero has shown Pep Guardiola his quality and importance to the side today.
