Dreams do come true

The following blog is a personal experience of an individual:

At 2:30 AM, my flight got confirmed for Karachi after continuous confusion between whether to go or not. I reached Karachi at 10 AM in the morning, the metropolitan city of Karachi was looking ready than ever to host a high profile match after 9 years. Getting the privilege of getting complimentary tickets of the best enclosure of the stadium: “Hanif Mohammad Enclosure” was indeed icing on the cake. The security was top notch as well; moreover the city of lights was full of colours, full of hospitality and off course energy and passion.

I wore my Hot Red Jersey of Islamabad United and made my way to the historical National Stadium Karachi, the enthusiasm among the fans was phenomenon. The arrangements by PCB were also satisfying and up to the standards. The closing ceremony of HBL PSL 2018 started 2 hours prior to the match at 6:00 PM which lasted for approximately 50 minutes and it charged up the crowd and the stadium was jam packed before the end of the final performance of the Voice of PSL: Ali Zafar.

Flying all the way from Islamabad to Karachi just to watch a match seems tiring, but if its your first ever PSL Match of your favourite team as well as playing the final that as well in front of pakistani crowd is extremely special for a fan like me. Well the match started at 8:00 PM, Peshawar Zalmi starting slow, but with few blistering starts managed to give a target of 149 to Islamabad United. Islamabad’s opener Luke Ronchi did not disappointed his fans and scored a match winning fifty and later a collapse and then 3 magical consecutive sixes of Asif Ali to Generator of Pakistan added the heat in the crowd and the talented all rounder Faheem Ashraf finished off the match with a huge six and gave another gift to Islamabad United fans in the shape of beautiful PSL Trophy.

The crowd of Karachi was very special, the atmosphere, the roar on every run up of fast bowlers was something which we dont see in UAE. Even-though it was very difficult to sit in a crowd which was supporting Peshawar Zalmi, it looked as if Peshawar Zalmi was playing at home.

The whole experience was something I would remember for years; Thank You Karachi for hosting PSL successfully and also bringing hope among the fans that one day every Pakistani home series will be played once again in Pakistan.

Here is a video of my experience at NSK, starting from the winning moment of PSL Final 2018, following by a great experience at National Stadium Karachi and watching Islamabad United winning it as well.
