India’s England tour is underway as the guest team cleared the mandatory quarantine period with negative COVID tests to resume on-ground training before the matches begin.

The two teams will be seen participating in a four-match Test, five-match T20I, and a three-match ODI series. Chennai’s MA Chidambaram stadium possesses the hosting rights for the first two tests that are to be played from 5th-9th and 13th-17th February, respectively.

It has been months since the spectators witnessed the live cricketing action as the COVID suppressed sports activities in early 2020. However, a few countries have got back to normal. Under-seeking the fans’ enthusiasm, the BCCI and TNCA are to discuss the scenario as the plan is contingent on allowing 50% of fans in the stadium in the second Test match.
Notably, the active COVID cases have crossed 1.5 Lakh INR in India and soon will cross the margin of 2 Lakh. With 4,532 cases in Tamil Nadu, Chennai Districts, the board might risk the spectator’s life fulfilling half of the ground.
If the crowd is allowed, media personnel will get complete accreditation inside Chennai Stadium.
