Kohli To Achieve Dhoni’s Milestones – A Big ask

Team India is going to defend their Champions Trophy title under the captaincy of Star Batsmen Virat Kohli. In other words we can say Indian fans wants Virat Kohli to continue MS Dhoni’s legacy from where he left.

MS Dhoni is one of the greatest captain ever produced by Indian Cricket, from a ticket collector to leading team India to World T20 title against the arch rivals Pakistan back in 2007, beating Sri Lankans in ICC World Cup 2011 to repeat the 28 year old performance of Kapil Dev, and not stopping there but lifting another ICC title in the shape of ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 in England. Dhoni has achieved everything as a skipper what other’s only can wish to achieve.

MS Dhoni is the only skipper to lift all the three titles of ICC, not only this but he also lifted Team India to Number 1 rankings in Test cricket as well.

There is no doubt on the abilities of star batsmen Virat Kohli and he has shown to the world what he is capable of, but when it comes to the task of captaincy you can not compare MS Dhoni & Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni is known for his cool and calm personality, but when it comes to Kohli, he is regarded as the most aggressive, vocal and hyper captain of team India.

Captaincy demands a lot of passions, skills, temperament and calmness. Being a star batsmen doesn’t means you could be considered as a star skipper. Leading a batting unit is totally different as compared to leading the whole team, and the added pressure on his shoulders is that team India is defending their title.

Virat Kohli’s real test will be the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, as it will be his 1st mega event as a skipper of team India and to continue the legacy of MS Dhoni, Virat needs to follow the footsteps of MS Dhoni. Virat will open his account as a skipper for team India in mega event against the arch rivals Pakistan, which is always considered as the mother of all battles.

Let see how Virat Kohli step forwards and leads team India in his 1st ICC mega event as a skipper. We will be in a better position to judge his captaincy skills after Champions Trophy 2017.
