Pakistan One Day Cup – A New Chapter

Pakistan Cup proved to be one of the best One Day Cup in Pakistan’s domestic crickets history. The targets of more than 350 were getting chased, youngsters were leading the team from front. Players were fighting till the last ball bowled. It was a wonderful cricket environment throughout the journey. Pakistan Cup surely showed all the things which modern one day cricket demands..

This Pakistan Cup was surely an outstanding tournament. Pakistan’s top quality batsmen were scoring runs tremendously and consistently. In  batting point of view Muhammad Hafeez,the former No 1 all-rounder in the world took the charge and came out to be the Top Scorer of this Pakistan Cup followed by his teammate Sami Aslam. Fakhar Zaman led his team upfront with his awesome batting and stunning captaincy. Umar Amin was also in the talks with his brilliant knock of 156 followed by a hundred for Punjab in winning cause.

Good Bowling Quality was also maintained by the several experienced players and youngsters. Aamer Yamin from Baluchistan took the charge  with 9 wickets in his bag and became the best bowler of the tournament. Behind him is Fahim Ashraf who is member of Pakistan’s champions trophy squad with 8 wickets. Adding to the standard of bowling, Imran Khan Sr was also among the top bowlers.

Versatility in cricket is very key. Versatility in cricket is defined by an all round performances. There were many excellent all-round performances. Aamer Yamin was the best all-rounder in Pakistan Cup with 9 wickets and 142 runs. He also had the highest strike in the tournament. Fahim Ashraf was also one of the best all rounders.

Main Prospect for Pakistan Cup was to find some good youngsters with all the characteristics of a match winning cricketer. Sahibzada Farhan impressed all with his excellent batting. He proved out to be one of the finest. He scored 4 consecutive fifties in group stages and a crucial hundred in the final of the tournament.

Pakistan Cup has kept the hopes of people alive for the revival of cricket in Pakistan.
