Pakistani stars that will be contesting in the CPL

Pakistan Cricket is being talked around almost everywhere as the country has just brough the Champions Trophy home, other countries seem to be impressed with the players and want them to be a part of their own League. It’s the Carribean Premier League that is just around the corner and just like every season we will again witness few Pakistani cricketers in the tournament as they have been drafted into the league.

Shoaib Malik (Barabados Tridents)- the veteran right handed batsman who plays the role of a senior with tons of experience as he is the only active player from the 90’s and he is also a pretty old member of CPL as he will be participating in his 5th tournament having played 34 matches and scoring 1000 runs which proves Malik is a very important player in the Barbados Tridents and they will be looking for his consistent performance with the bat and also with the ball as soon as the tournament kicks off.

Sohail Tanvir (Guyana Amazon Warriors)- just like Malik, another experienced player in the league. the left handed fast bowler always enjoys playing thr Carribean Premier League and he was also the most expensive Cricketer in last year’s tournament so there were high expectations from him and Tanvir did not disappoint instead, he put up a great performance throughout CPL which would have convinced the owners to retain for this year as welll and also make him the most expensive Pakistani Player in this season.

Wahab Riaz (Barabados Tridents)- yet another senior player in the tournament with plenty number of international matches and domestic leagues under his belt. The left arm pacer did not really have a pleasing Champions Trophy Recently as the only thing he lacks is consistency which has been a big problem for Wahab Riaz as of late nevertheless, he is still capable of being effective T20 Bowler and his experience might have compelled the selectors to choose Wahab as a fast overseas bowler.

Shadab Khan (Trinbago Knight Riders)- the 18 year old has been living the dream, first showing a magical performance in the PSL and then getting a call up to the national squad vs West Indies in which he performed quite well, and just recently he contributed big time to help his nation secure Champions Trophy victory for the first time ever, the young leggie has caught everyone’s attention ever since then and has now been signed by the Knight Riders who will hope Shadab turns out to be marvelous pick as he will be making his CPL debut.

Imad Wasim (Jamaica Tallawahs)- the 28 year old All rounder just made his CPL debut last year and he performed reasonably well with both bat and ball and his consistent performance also led his team to winning the tournament last year and he also earned the player of the match award in the final which is a big achievement. The Tallawah’s could not let Imad Wasim go from their team as he is much improved now and hopefully will perform better than last year.

Mohammad Sami (Jamaica Tallawahs)- the experienced pacer who also turns out to be Imad’s team mate in the Tallahwah’s is very handy and has the ability to be economical and also pick up key wickets when required using his extreme pace and swing. He has been a good performer in the PSL and also whenever he has represented Pakistan in international Cricket and again he is given a platform to show how good he is as a bowler so people expect a solid performance from hi throughout the tournament.

Kamran Akmal (St Lucia Stars)- the right handed batsman and also a wicket keeper who has played the Carribean Premier League previously will be heading out to participate in this tournament with full confidence as he has proven his worth as a T20 player considering the fact that he was recently awarded player of the tournament in the second season of PSL due to his blistering batting and safe pair of hands behind the stumps. The Senior Akmal has worked hard in both Keeping and Batting and has made himself an even better player than before. The St Lucians will be hoping Kamran Akmal does well to contribute so that his team can go further in the tournament.

All these 7 Pakistani players are talented and have been good performers for whichever team they play for whether it’s International or Domestic which is why they have earned a chance to play in an overseas league and as the years pass by we might just see more and more Pakistani’s featuring in the Carribean Premier League.
