The Champions Trophy has reached to a stage where all the teams are fighting hard for a spot in the semi finals and we have seen some astonishing efforts by some quality players who left no stones unturned to help their respective team qualify for the semi’s.
Here are some players from each country who have been quite impressive throughout the tournament so far:
Hassan Ali (Pakistan)- The quick, talented and A very bright future star of Pakistan Cricket who has absolutely justified his selection in the team by delivering incredible bowling performances which also earned him the man of the match award vs South Africa a couple days ago, his contribution to the team has been very vital and Pakistan needs their Key bowler to perform consistently in the closing stages of the tournament.
Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh)- An experienced Underated Bangladeshi opening batsman that has been the key player for Bangladesh in the tournament as he has already has a century to his name vs England along with a 95 vs New Zealand however, unfortunately the results didn’t go their way despite Tamim’s efforts.
Imran Tahir (South Africa)- A Senior Leggie who has troubled a lot of batsmen with his magnificent bowling in the tournament so far helping South Africa claim victory against Sri Lanka. One of the most Lethal bowler and he has already proven his worth in the 2 games he has played so far.
Shikhar Dhawan (India)- Another aggressively dangerous opener who has scored 193 runs in 2 matches giving a solid start to India however the Job isn’t done yet, India requires Dhawan to continue performing consistently and assist the defending champions to go on and play the semi finals.
Joe Root (England)- Undoubtedly one of the biggest name in the tournament and once again he has not failed to disappoint everyone as he has continued to do what he does best and that’s score top knocks and secure a win for England, Root did just that against Bangladesh in the opening game and later went on to score another helpful 64 against the Kiwis. Joe Root will look to do more damage to his opponents as his Side has already qualified for the Semi Finals.
Josh Hazlewood (Australia)- It was quite unfortunate for The Aussies to not be able to get results their way after rain interrupted their both matches but that did not seem to halt Hazlewood’s succesful performances, Picked up 7 wickets in 2 matches and has been quite economical. Though many did not expect a performance like this from Hazlewood but this is what the Aussies need to stay alive in this tournament.
Kane Williamson (New Zealand)- Another Popular name in the tournament along with Joe Root, Kane has been performing consistently which is a very positive sign for the Kiwi’s scoring a century in the opening game and then again a valuable 87 in the second game. Williamson’s performance is key to success for New Zealand as this Talented Batsman is unstoppable once He gets going.
Kusal Perera (Sri Lanka)- Last but not The least, The Sri Lankan Left handed batsman who has been under the limelight as he has been performing quite well for Sri Lanka nearing a 50 in the first game and then creeping towards a half century again in the second game against India however an injury did not let that happen. Kusal has been in fine form as of late and The Sri Lankan fans would hope to see him fit for the Decider vs Pakistan in a few days as his performance could be crucial for Sri Lanka’s victory.
