The International Cricket Council (ICC), being the global cricket body, has taken the final decision on the deferred ICC T20 World Cup 2020 whose fate was hanging by a thread for so long. According to the recently taken decision that is making breaking news in the cricketing world, the mega-event has been postponed shortly.

In the meeting, it has not been decided if India will be organizing 2021 edition of the World Cup and if Australia would be the hosts for the 2023 edition of the Australia edition will be moved to 2021 and India to 2022 of the mega-event.

The global T20 cricketing event was all set to go ahead by 15th October but the decision was deferred which made other nations wait for rescheduling or scheduling their pre-series or new bilateral series/domestic cricket/cricket tournaments respectively.

There could be three undone World Cup that will have to take place between 2021-2023; T20 World Cup 2020, World Cup 202, World Cup 2023.

“The decision gives us the best possible opportunity of delivering two safe and successful T20 World Cups,” said International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive Manu Sawhney.

“Our members now have the clarity they need around event windows to enable them to reschedule lost bilateral and domestic cricket.”
