New Dates announced for National T20 Cup Semis and Final

The PCB decided to postpone the Semis and Final of the National T20 cup due to religious unrest. The prevailing situation started on Saturday when Police endeavored to scatter a demonstration by a religious clutch at an interchange in Rawalpindi.

“Due to the prevailing situation, the PCB management has decided to postpone the semi-finals and final of the National T20 Cup and Super 8 rounds of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy for now,” PCB’s media manager Shakeel Khan said. “New dates will be announced later.”

The Semi-finals and the grand finale, were scheduled on 26th and 27th of November 2017 respectively.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has now announced new dates for the tournament.

The first semi-final between Lahore Region Whites and Faisalabad Region and the second semi-final between Lahore Region Blues and Rawalpindi Region are now scheduled on 29th November 2017 and the Final on 30th November 2017.

Rawalpindi will remain as the venue for the remaining matches of The National T20 Cup. Do not forget that this tournament is the last one of our Magician, the legendary off-spinner, Saeed Ajmal.

The National T20 cup faced many obstacles this year. Later it was scheduled in September but the ICC’s World XI decided to tour Pakistan in September. Then the dates were changed and it again clashed with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and the now postponed South Africa’s Global T20 League. After that smog in Faisalabad and Multan forced PCB to change the venue to Rawalpindi.

Let’s hope that this time the National T20 cup finishes with everything going the way it is planned.
