In Test Cricket we have witnessed few close encounters but Dominica Test was one in it’s own. Two legends waiting for a fitting farewell, Pakistan cricket waiting for a historical achievement, Series waiting for a decider, and from here Yasir Shah did the magic and cleaned up S.Gabriel to mark the unique historical achievement in the history of Pakistan Cricket.
With two overs to go, Chase was sure that his rescue efforts will save West Indies from a historical defeat, and you gotta feel sad for him that all his rescue efforts were ruined by Gabriel on the last ball of the penultimate over. Gabriel tried his best to heave over the fielders head but an inside edge rolled on to the stumps and Yasir ran away in joy to celebrate the historical achievement of Team Pakistan.
Misbah “The Man Of Crisis” and Younis “The Runs Machine” registered their names among those who conquered West Indies in their last ever career match. This side – Misbah’s side – had done what Hanif Mohammad couldn’t do, what Javed Miandad couldn’t do, what Imran Khan couldn’t do in West Indies. He had led his side to its first ever series victory there, a 101-run win sealing his – and Younis’ – careers with aplomb. Test cricket certainly has a way of rewarding its own.
I’m very happy for Misbah & Younis who deserved this historical achievement, they did their level best to up lift Pakistan Cricket from crisis to unique achievements. I wish both of them best of luck for their rest of life and feeling proud on Team Pakistan who did their level best to send-off both legends on a remarkable achievement.
