Pakistan Ahead – West Indies On The Backfoot

Day-2 started with the rise of Team Pakistan against the hosts, Pakistani bowlers raped up the Windies Batting Line up with in the 1st hour. Pakistani pacers finished with the collective figures of 7 wickets, young Abbas bowled the best ever spell by a Pakistani bowler at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. He took 4 wickets for 56 runs in 23 overs.

Skipper Holder & Centurion Chase hasn’t troubled the scorers on Day-2 and left the crease without adding anything to their individual scores. Holder got dismissed on the 3rd ball of the day while Chase become the victim of Amir on the 9th ball of the day. West Indies lost there last 4 wickets for just 26 runs in 9.5 overs.

West Indies managed to add just 26 runs to their overnight total. Pakistan restricted them to 312 in 98.5 overs. WI scored at a run rate of 3.15 runs per over including 438 dot balls, 38 fours.

Pace has dominated very much in the 1st innings but looking at the turn and considering the situation Pakistan are in, it feels like that spin is going to play its part later on.

In reply to West Indies Innings, Pakistani openers provided a solid foundation of 155 runs but West Indies bounced back by taking 3 wickets for 6 runs, Babar & Younis departed without troubling the scorers while Shehzad reprieved thrice to make 70. Over rate was slow on day-2 as the play has been called off 9 overs before the scheduled 90 overs due to bad light.

Pakistan’s Concern:

Pakistan needs to build a solid foundation under the belt of Misbah & well settled Azhar Ali, they are still trailing by 140 runs and the new ball is due after 11 overs which will be very crucial for both teams.

West Indies Concern:

West Indies already paid the penalty of bowling no balls, no balls had cost them 2 wickets which can be very crucial for deciding the results of the whole match.
