Departure of Three Great Ambassadors of Pakistan Cricket (1996-2017)

The cricketing world has seen many players make a name for themselves and leave no stone unturned to earn the big label of Legend and some greats of Pakistan Cricket have already accomplished that like Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Misbah ul Haq who have almost closed the door to their international cricket career after giving so many memories for Pakistani fans to cherish and putting in so much hard work and effort while serving the national team and striving hard to attain better results for their team. It is now the Pakistan Cricket Board’s responsibility to give a grand farewell so that they can bid adieu with their heads held high.

Shahid Afridi, the Fearless Hitter, The dangerous All rounder: It all started back in 1996 when a young lad stepped on the field wearing the national kit left an impact on everyone else when he smashed the fastest century at that time in just his 2nd international game, since then people started adoring the style of how Afridi plays and kept hopes he would score big in every innings he plays. Afridi played an incredible 523 times for Pakistan, scoring 11,185 runs and taking 540 international wickets. He had this magical ability to turn a game in no time and have the opposition under enormous pressure by coming in and smashing big ones out of the park and absolutely demolishing the bowler inserting good amount of fear inside the bowler for Afridi and that is what made Afridi so unique and loved by fans all over the world, the style he plays with is very pleasing and undoubtedly Pakistan will face a hard time moving on from a destructive all rounder in the form of Shahid Khan Afridi.

Then comes the Great Younis Khan, The Champion of Champions is probably the best way to describe a cricketer like him. He has conquered the bests of tests, has led the national team to World Cup victory back in 2009 apart from that, Younis Khan has the most Test centuries by a Pakistani. He has five double-centuries in Tests. He has scored a hundred against every Test-playing nation. He holds the record for most catches in Test Cricket for Pakistan. He averages over 50 at home. He averages over 50 away. He averages over 50 in the neutral limbo. He has the highest average of any Pakistani batsman in history and is now only 23 runs away from becoming the First Pakistani Batsman to score 10K runs in Test Cricket. The Pakistani Test Team was highly dependent on Younis Khan, when other batsmen couldn’t score big it was he who came out in the middle and score a century or maybe a double century to save the game or to win the game which is why he was considered as the backbone of the team.

Last but not the least, the calm and cool Player, Pakistan’s most successful Test Captain, Mr Consistent, the One and Only Misbah Ul Haq who has been through a lot in his career had many ups and downs faced heavy criticism, it would be befitting to say that Misbah’s Career was like a rollercoaster ride. Misbah Ul Haq still remains as one of the most under appreciated cricketer in Pakistan’s History, even after giving a lot to the country. He still didn’t get a response he wanted or deserved. Many people still doubt him on his captaincy skills but let me tell you that Misbah is the only captain to whitewash a side out of Pakistan in a test series, He is the first Pakistani to hold the Test Mace and also has the most test wins for Pakistan (49). Keeping Captaincy at one side Misbah Ul Haq is also extraordinary as a Player, He has achieved records in all formats of the game, Misbah Remained Pakistan’s leading run scorer for three consecutive years, the fastest fifty and hundred in tests belongs to him. Yet he is criticised for his slow batting despite knowing the fact that he had to bat most of times at a position where you need to play sensibly and not throw your wicket away hence given the nickname Lone Warrior. All the Pakistani Fans who have supported Misbah will face a tough time saying goodbye to the skipper knowing how much he has done for the Pakistan Cricket Team.

All these 3 Stars undoubtedly deserve to be sent off in a very respected manner, looking at all their services towards their national team it is high time they get a reward for every single moment they have given to the fans and Pakistan Cricket Team.
