Pakistan-born British boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom have gone one step ahead in their social work, and adopted an orphan child.
According to details, Amir Khan went to Gambia, a country in West Africa, to help the needy on behalf of his foundation and was greatly moved after witnessing the condition of children over there.
The boxer said he wished to take every child with him, but started this good work by adopting one child.
Amir’s wife Faryal Makhdoom said, “Our religion teaches us to take care of orphans, and we had planned to adopt a child from the beginning.”
While the couple are considering welcoming an orphan into their family, they explained that the process to do so is a ‘difficult’ one.
Amir Khan has already offered his help to the young children in the community he has visited and has commissioned an orphanage to be built in the area.
He is hoping to add a school and a hospital alongside the orphanage, as well as setting up another orphanage in Pakistan too.
If the couple do choose to adopt, they will be adding another child to their brood.
Let me tell you that Proud parents: Amir and Faryal are already parents to their two-year-old daughter Lamaisah.
