Moving into combat with Kane Williamson’s Kiwis, India defeated the side by 4-1 in a five-match ODI series. Later on, a T20I series of three matches were played which ended up as an unfortunate for Kohli’s side as New Zealand beat them by 2-1.
The side seemed to be down in T20I series as facing Australia against after New Zealand, this time in a two-match T20 series, Australia thrashed them and handed over a whitewash to the Men in Blue. Finch side decided their revenge as in the five-match ODI series, India lost by 2-3. No doubt, that was equal combat, but luck always matters in the games on the ground.
The World Cup journey began for India Cricket Team. Everybody is already aware of the team’s performance in the mega-events. They marked brilliancy starting from warm-up matches and ending on the semi-finals. It looked like Williamson’s Kiwis brought them a stroke of bad luck as they defeated India in a warm-up game and slide them down in the semi-finals of the mega-event as well. India vs New Zealand semi-finals indeed was a thrilling game, not more than New Zealand vs England’s final. However, the group match was abandoned without a ball being bowled as a consequence of England’s weather conditions.
India must have been aggressive after what happened to them in the semi-finals as they slammed West Indies with a clean sweep in a three-match ODI series. Later, in a three-match ODI series, the first ODI was, however, ended up with no result, and later, in the third ODI, it was the DLS method that chose India as the winner by 2-0. The West Indies vs India was terminated with India’s victory in a two-match test series by 2-0.
The journey of cricket moved on for India Cricket Team in 2019 as they faced South Africa next in a three-match T20 series. Both the sides were equivalent and with the one match being abandoned, the series terminated with 1-1, however, India clean sweep South Africa in a three-match test series later.
The next opponent that India faced was Bangladesh. The team again was headed with a 2-1 victory in the T20 series. They then handed over a whitewash to Bangladesh in a two-match Test series.
Again West Indies in a three-match T20 series and again the disappointment for Pollard’s side. India Cricket Team ended their 2019 magnificently as they signed a victory by 2-1 in a three-match ODI series defeating West Indies; must be breaking for Pollard as his 74 went vacant with other player’s majestic performance too.
