Manchester City have been banned from signing academy players of under 10 and under 18 due to over tapping for the two years. They have also been fined £300,000 by Premier League.
An inquiry has been conducted by Premier League where Manchester City found guilty of breaching club’s rule. Through investigation Premier League found evidence of contacts between Manchester City’s officials and family members of the players. Although these players are already registered with their previous clubs.
This ban will start from June 30, 2018. Whereas, Manchester City declined to comment on this issue. Premier League said in a statement: “The premier league has sanctioned Manchester City FC for breaches of its youth development rules. The breaches concern approaches to two separate academy players whilst they were each registered with another club.”
