Match Preview : Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI

Pakistan is going to face Sri Lanka in the final One Day Match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday, 22nd October 2017 . Pakistan, after losing the test series 2-0 is now leading the One Day series 4-0 and is expected to clean swipe Sri Lanka.

Sharjah Cricket stadium holds the record of hosting most number of One Day matches that is 227. None other stadium has hosted more than 200 One Day matches. Pakistan have played 123 One Day Internationals in this stadium with the win/loss ratio of 2.050. On the other hand, Sri Lanka played 79 matches with a ratio of 0.604. Stats show Pakistan have better record of wins as compared to Sri Lanka which, statistically is an advantage for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s highest score at this ground is 364 runs, which was scored back in December 2014 against New Zealand under the captaincy of Shahid Afridi. In that match, Ahmed Shehzad scored 113 runs and that lead the team’s score to 300 above. Whereas, Pakistan’s lowest at this ground is 66 runs for the loss of 0 wicket against again New Zealand. New Zealand was attacked by Pakistani bowlers brutally and they were all out for just 65 runs. Abdul Qadir and Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Beside bowling and batting , Inzimam ul Haq and Shahid Afridi jointly holds the record most number of catches as a fielder with 22 catches each. Whereas, if we consider the present squad then Shoaib Malik is dominating in the fielding record. He has taken total 9 catches in 26 matches.
