The ‘babysitting’ saga, which began with the funny banter between Australian skipper Tim Paine and Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant during the Boxing Day Test in Melborune, just doesn’t seem to end.
Rishabh Pant is seemingly in demand as much off the cricket field as he is on it.
Since the Indian team’s triumphant return from Australia, following a historic victory in the land down under, Pant and his teammates have been getting some welll-deserved rest before their next series of matches.
That being said, batsman Rohit Sharma probably won’t be getting as much R&R as he would have liked given that his wife recently gave birth to a baby girl. Thankfully there’s Pant.
One of the barbs that caught the attention of many was when Paine asked Pant if he could babysit.
“Do you babysit? I’ll take my wife to the movies one night and you can babysit,” he had told the Indian wicketkeeper when he was batting. However, it seems Pant took Paine’s words at face value, and Paine’s wife Bonnie posted a picture of herself and her children alongside Pant with a tongue-in-cheek caption “Best babysitter”.
The skipper’s wife posed for a picture with the Indian wicketkeeper. Also, the kids were with her and Pant was kind enough to hold one of them in his shoulders. After that, Bonnie put up an Instagram story with the same picture and wrote: ‘Best babysitter?’.

Little wonder then that, India cricketer Rohit Sharma trolled teammate Rishabh Pant with the now famous babysitter reference on social media, on Wednesday.
During the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia skipper Tim Paine sledged Pant by asking him to babysit his kids and Rohit has now taken the banter to altogether a different level.
Rohit recently revealed that he and his partner Ritika Sajdeh were blessed with a baby girl and they have named her Samaira. The entire chain of events of this friendly banter started with Pant wishing his followers good morning on social media, along with a picture of himself.
Rohit pulled his leg by saying: “Morning buddy. Heard your a good baby sitter, need one right now. Ritika will be quite happy @RishabPant777.”

Pant took the banter in good spirits and responded by taking a friendly dig at teammate Yuzvendra Chahal. Pant wrote: “@ImRo45 Hahhaa.. Bhaiya @yuzi_chahal not doing his job properly? More than happy to babysit Samaira Congratulations @ritssajdeh.”

The friendly banter quickly caught the eye of Twitter users and in less than three hours, Sharma’s cheeky reply got close to 30k likes
