PAK v SA 2018-19

Zainab tweeted for Babar Azam, Babar got ‘OUT’ and people are trolling her for it

Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez set up a five-wicket win for Pakistan in the first one-day international against South Africa at St George’s Park on Saturday.

The left-handed Imam made a cultured 86 off 101 balls and Hafeez hit an unbeaten 71 off 63 deliveries as Pakistan chased down a target of 267 with five balls to spare. Hashim Amla’s 27th one-day international century was not enough for South Africa, who lost only two wickets in scoring 266 runs after winning the toss.

Pakistan’s chase was comfortable until opener Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for 86, the first of three quick wickets near the end. The 38-year-old Hafeez saw his side home with his 35th ODI half-century.

Hafeez hit eight fours and two sixes. The first six off fast bowler Duanne Olivier landed on the roof of one of the stands and bounced out of the St. George’s Park stadium.

Olivier was Pakistan’s chief destroyer in the test series but couldn’t bring his form to the short format on his ODI debut, with the tourists enjoying the slow Port Elizabeth pitch.

Bowlers Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali took the wickets but crucially kept the South Africans in check with economy rates of less than five an over.

Imam and Babar Azam (49) then laid the foundation for the successful chase with a 94-run stand for the second wicket and Hafeez finished it off.

While Babar and Imam were batting brilliantly, Zainab Abbas, a popular sports anchor in Pakistan who has 1.12 million followers on Twitter, appreciated Babar and Imam for their brilliant partnership.

Great partnership there between Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam – have kept Pakistan on track for the chase’, she tweeted.

After the tweet, Babar Azam got out on 49 and people started blaming Zainab Abbas for that.

Social media users couldn’t take this lying down. Many took the opportunity to poke fun at her;

Babar Azam slams anchor Zainab Abbas on Twitter;

Few months back when, Babar scored his maiden test hundred, a lot of people congratulate him for this achievement and one of them was Zainab Abbas.

Zainab Abbass tweeted:

Well played Babar Azam – loved how the boys went congratulating Mickey Arthur celebrating his “son’s” century!

But the 24-year-old Pakistan batsman apparently didn’t like word ‘son’ in Zainab’s tweet as it suggested he gets special treatment from the Australian coach in the Pakistan dressing room.

“Think before u say something and don’t try to cross ur limits!!!,” Babar shot back on Twitter last night.

Babar Azam quoted Zainab’s tweet and said:

Think before u say something and don’t try to cross your limits! OOPS!!

This reply by Babar Azam to Zainab Abbas started a new war on social media. Some praised Babar while some disagreed with him. Let’s take a look what people have to say about it;

That’s really a question;

It’s a Million$ question;

Cousin Effect maybe;

Are you serious dude?

Can’t agree with this!

HAHAHA That could be the reason behind Babar’s tweet!
