Muhammad Rizwan who started his test career in 2016 has recently proved the reason of his selection in Pakistan vs South Africa second test match being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Rizwan was not always welcomed by the public, he was often made fun of and even during Pakistan Super League he was not given a proper chance to showcase his skills. However the wicket-keeper batsmen kept himself composed and answered everyone through his bat.
Rizwan came to crease when the top order of the batting had collapsed and the scorecard showed 63/4. On the first 22 balls, he scored nothing but later picked up his speed and made a fifty on 71 balls. He didn’t stop there and converted that fifty into a hundred. This was the first-ever ton for Mohammad Rizwan. Scoring 115 runs (including fifteen 4’s) on 204 balls at the strike rate of 56.37 that too in a pressure condition is not an easy task but he accomplished this with efficiency.
His partnership with tail-enders had helped exceedingly for Pakistan to set up a lead of 370 runs. Overall in test cricket excluding this performance, Rizwan who is also known as superman due to his fielding abilities has played 12 matches and 18 innings in which he has total 621 runs in his record. His average is 38.81 and strike rate is 52.63. The total number of fifties he achieved are 6 and the highest score was 95.
The brilliant display of batting has earned Rizwan praises from cricketing fans all around the globe, even the people who didn’t believe in his potential were forced to acknowledge his efforts.
