Azhar Mehmood Says He Finally Found What He Was Looking For.

The Pakistani bowling coach, who has played a very big role in grooming and making sure the bowlers bowl at their full potential says he found what Pakistan was missing in past few years. He meant to say that since the exit of Abdul Razzaq, Pakistan did not find any genuine fast bowling all-rounder who could bowl well and hit the ball with power with the bat.

Azhar believes that the new comer, Faheem Ashraf has everything what it takes to be a complete all-rounder. He praised him further by saying that Faheem has the potential to overcome Abdul Razzaq one day. Let’s not forget that Abdul Razzaq is considered as one of the greatest all-rounder Pakistan has ever produced!

“What a player Faheem has proved to be, when I first saw him in the emerging players camp, I knew that this guy had the potential to be the very best. He is a fantastic talent who has the skills and the desire to improve and work hard. I feel that cricket is all about confidence, and if given that confidence, Faheem has the potential to become an excellent all-rounder.” said Azhar Mehmood.

Faheem made a surprise entry to the Pakistani side in April 2017 for the ODI series in West Indies after having consistent impressing performances in the Pakistan Cup 2017. Faheem averaged 20 with the bat in 3 innings but did hit long hits. He was the second highest wicket taker of the tournemant, taking 8 wickets at an average of 23.62 for Punjab.

Although, Faheem’s selection was reacted in a furious manner by the fans at first, calling it a selection based on relations in the board but the youngster from Kasur later made it into the headlines when Pakistan won a match they almost lost after he scored a rapid fire innings of 64 off 30 balls against Bangladesh in a warm-up match. He later made his debut during the ICC Champion’s Trophy group match against Sri Lanka, taking two wickets and got run out after scoring 15 runs. But Faheem had proved his hitting abilities then.

In Sri Lanka’s tour of UAE, he was given chance in the last two matches of the series as he bowled very economical spells. He again broke the headlines after taking a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20i in Abu Dhabi, making him the first Pakistani to get a hat-trick in T20 Internationals. Faheem showed that he has abilities to bowl around 140KpH as well.

Azhar Mehmood believes that Faheem will make people forget Abdul Razzaq, if he plays with consistency. He believes Faheem has a big future ahead and he can develop his abilities if he works harder.
