The fourth season of the Pakistan Super League will be held in 2019 and the PSL 2019 squads for all teams were finally announced at the end of the PSL Draft that was held on November 20.
The 2019 Pakistan Super League will provide a series of firsts for supporters. In the fourth season of the Twenty20 league, which starts in Dubai in February, AB de Villiers will be making his tournament debut.
Abu Dhabi will host PSL matches for the first time – four in two days – while supporters based back in Pakistan will now get to see regular league season games.
Where finals matches have been played in Lahore and Karachi in the past two seasons, now the franchises representing those two cities will get to play in front of home faithful.
The league stage comprises of double round-robin stage where all six teams – Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators – will compete against each other twice.
The top four teams from the league stage will move to the playoffs where the top two teams will meet in the Qualifier, the winner of which will move straight-a-way to the final, while the third and fourth ranked teams will clash in Eliminator 1. The loser of the Qualifier and the winner of Eliminator 1 will face each other in Eliminator 2.
The teams for PSL 2019 have been scheduled, and all of them are in high spirits. Six teams are going to take part in the Pakistan Super League 2019.
The players of every team have been divided into different categories naming Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging. The Platinum category contains an impressive list of the players while the list moves on with emerging ones.
Here are the categories of the players along with their salaries while falling in each category:
Platinum Category: $140,000 – $230,000
Diamond Category: $75,000 – $80,000
Gold Category: $50,000 – $60,000
Silver Category: $22,000 – $33,000
Emerging Category: $10,000 – $12,000
1. Islamabad United Squad:
The two-time champions will be without the services of Misbah-ul-Haq this year who is now a part of the Peshawar Zalmi side. However, Islamabad have some decent star attraction.

2. Karachi Kings Squad:
Karachi Kings seemed to be a much improved side after first three edition of the PSL. The likes of Pakistan internationals Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Amir are a part of the team that has reached the playoffs in every season.

3. Peshawar Zalmi Squad:
The 2017 Champions and last year’s runner-ups acquired the services of former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq after he made himself available for this season.
Currently, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi is Darren Sammy, and the head coach is Mohammad Akram. The leading run-scorer and wicket taker include the names of Kamran Akmal and Wahab Riaz respectively.

4. Quetta Gladiators Squad:
Quetta is the most unluckiest team in the history of PSL, they went through finals but couldn’t make up to the winning team. Quetta is the only team, who haven’t changed their captain from the inaugral season. This will be a consecutive fourth sesaon for Sarfaraz Ahmed to lead Gladiators.

5. Lahore Qalandars Squad:
Lahore Qalandar which is owned by Fawad Rana is the team which was eliminated first in all three editions of PSL. Mohammad Hafeez will lead Qalandars in 3rd edition of PSL.
However, the Qalandars grabbed a lot of attention in the player draft as they got the services of South Africa star AB de Villiers.

6. Multan Sultans Squad:
Multan Sultans was also established for PSL in 2017. On 20 December 2018, Ali Khan Tareen got the rights of Multan Sultans. It is Multan based cricket franchise and owned by Ali Khan Tareen. Shoaib Malik is the captain of Multan Sultans.
Earlier, the head coach of the team was Tom Moody, but he withdrew from his responsibilities. So, recently Johan Botha has been appointed as the head coach and the director of the team is Wasim Akhtar. Nadeem Khan is the manager of the Multan Sultans.

Performances by Pakistani Sufi rock band Junoon, singers Shuja Haider and Aima Baig, singers of the anthem Fawad Khan and rapper Young Desi are confirmed for the PSL 2019 opening ceremony. American rapper Pitbull and British singer Marcia Barrett from German band Boney M. are also confirmed for the opening ceremony of PSL 2019.
