Often known as the critique of the cricketers, Aqib Javed has taken a dig at Mohammad Amir, claiming his selection as the ‘biggest injustice.’ Aqib desires Junaid Khan to be a part of the national squad against England and says he has got better stats than Amir.
Mentioning years old spot-fixing scandal, Aqib said PCB had diminished the fact giving him a chance even after his involvement in the culprit acts. He believes Amir is always given preference over some reason.
As Amir has retired from Test cricket back in 2019 due to health reasons which he has revealed a few days back, he had already received heavy criticism over it. Aqib mentioned his retirement criticizing him neglecting the truths he told recently in an interview that sought sympathy.
“Biggest Injustice,” Aqib Javed on picking Amir for England series over Junaid Khan
“The PCB and the electoral committee are the followers of Mohammad Amir. He has always been famous for a reason. When you compare Junaid Khan’s performance with Amir, Junaid is not behind, but in fact, it is better.
Injustice is done for Junaid, and he is ignored for no reason. The PCB brought Amir back after the incident [to prevent the site from being repaired], and since then, he has given one crucial job, which was at the end of the 2017 Champions Trophy final. Apart from this, Amir has been struggling since his return,” Javed was quoted as saying by the Daily Times.
“I think he’s about to go to the Twenty20 International games because he doesn’t play Tests. If you already have about ten quick players in the 29-team England squad, why do you need to call Amir? There is no clear policy on the future,” asked Javed, who donated the jersey of Pakistan In 22 trials, he hit 54 wickets including a five-wicket haul.
