Drought for Pakistan in Football continues

According to Men’s football FIFA ranking, Brazil led the table after seven years with 1661 points. Where as, Argentina dropped to 2nd position after the loss of 41 points. Liberia dropped by biggest points that is 146 and 39 ranks.

Pakistan slipped down three places from 198 to worst ever 201 position in the latest FIFA rankings. Pakistan football team hasn’t played a single match for last two years. If such circumstances continued, then what would we expect from a team!

The only teams ranked below Pakistan are Turks, Cayman, Marino, British Virgin Island, Anguilla, Bahamas, Eritrea, Gibraltar, Somalia and Tonga. Moreover Pakistan is ranked last among the Asian countries.

Football activities in Pakistan are negligible. Management is responsible for all the issues and controversies. Pakistan Football Federation is involved in unnecessary mess. In 2015, Faisal Saleh won the elections and chosen as the president. But other group refused to accept the results and blamed Faisal Saleh for winning the elections by cheating. FIFA already accepted the elections but Pakistan Football is drowned into the politics. The matter is in the court for two years but still no progress has been showed yet.

We can’t deny a fact that Pakistan hasn’t talent and potential. Pakistan has a lot of talent, many Pakistani players are playing for foreign clubs. Now, PFF should take a step rather than fighting on their personal issues. Matches should be conducted on regular basis. Players are still optimistic and hoping that this issue will resolve soon and they will play national and international matches.
