It has been a decade and a year since Fawad Alam made his debut back in 2009. The player was deprived of international format despite his brilliance in the niche. The world stood for him as the player stats are far beyond ordinary. He possesses 6577 List A cricket runs and 12222 first-class runs.

Finally, as the doors are opened on him after being selected in the playing XI against Southampton’s test, it is to be analyzed yet if he could score and meet the expectations. It would be a challenging task to score directly after eleven years on an international level as here lies a huge difference between playing domestically and internationally.

Also, the PCB’s selection criteria are found unjust by many as considering the veterans of the team, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq, whose last eighteen innings have not gone fair enough to treat Pakistan Cricket well. On the contrary, a player who performs is often diminished by the board that is eye-catching and gets a spotlight of the fans.

As a ton or doubleton is expected by Fawad at Ageas Bowl, it might pressurize the batsman to meet the severe expectations so early and the tension grabbing element (I might be kicked out if will not perform in the first test) might disturb him.

Unfortunately, the weather in England once again seems to deprive him of his chance.

Making his test debut bake in 2009, he achieved the milestone of becoming the first cricketer to score test-century on debut away home. The player was not given any chance despite his brilliant knocks.
