The former Pakistani pacer, Tanvir Ahmed, has come with a piece of advice for Babar Azam; to improve his English-speaking skills and to maintain his personality. Over his odd advice, Tanvir has received heights of criticism from Babar’s fan.
In a reply, Babar Azam made it clear that his duty is to play cricket and he is already focusing on learning things to establish equilibrium with media as well adding that these things aren’t learned spontaneously.
“I’m a cricketer, my job is to play cricket. I am not a ‘gora,’ who knows English completely. Yes, I am working on it, but you learn these things over a period of time, you can’t just suddenly learn it,” said Babar as quoted by PakPassion Editor Saj Sadiq.
“It is an honor for me to captain Pakistan in ODIs as well,” he said.
Unquestionably, the player has risen like a shining star holding a grip on his consistency among all forms of the game. People are expecting a lot from him as a skipper. All Babar wish is for an aggressive captaincy similar to that of Imran Khan. He hopes things will work and he will be utilizing the most out of his players in shorter formats.
“I take advice from Misbah Bhai and senior players with regards to captaincy. It is not easy to lead the Pakistan side but I will try my best to ensure the team produces good results in ODI and T20I cricket. I believe in attacking captaincy like Imran Khan,” said Babar.
Also, he advised people not to make a comparison between Virat Kohli and him. He thinks Kohli has got his own class and he, himself has got some other quality cricket, hence, the comparison doesn’t sound just.
“Don’t compare me with Virat Kohli because he is a player of a different class,” he said. “I try to perform well in my own way,” added the prolific right-hander.
