Ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019, Pakistan will play a T20I game against England before locking horns for 5 times in the ODI series. It will be followed by the warm-up games and then the first game in the showpiece event against Windies on May 31st in Nottingham.
With the series against England around the corner the things are only getting tougher for Pakistan. Two players have already ruled out of series against England.
Now after missing Shadab Khan and Shoaib Malik, Pakistan once again gets the major blow for the upcoming series against England. They lost the services of Mohammad Hafeez for an initial couple of ODI matches before missing out for the one-off a T20I game.
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez’s availability is still in doubt for England series as he likely will miss only T20 and first two ODIs against England.
Pakistani all-rounder sustained a thumb injury during his match against Karachi King during Pakistan Super League (2019) few months ago in the attempt of getting Colin Ingram catch out.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Media Sami Ul Hasan Burney informed that there is a possibility of Hafeez’s return to national side on Pakistan’s third ODI in Bristol on May 14.
Well, it would be interesting to see whether Mohammad Hafeez will recover from the injury ahead of the 3rd ODI or not. Sarfraz Ahmed would love to have a look at Hafeez spin-bowling, which would be the deciding factor of the experienced campaigner place in the playing XI.
Mohammad Hafeez has already starting practicing in the nets even though he had not played any warm-up matches against any county.
Last week, Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur expressed that Hafeez should not be ruled out of the ODI series against England.
“Hafeez has bowled and fielded. Hafeez is ahead of where we want him and that’s great news. He has been doing a lot of work so don’t rule out Hafeez in the one-day series,” Arthur said.
Pakistani cricket stalwart Mohammad Hafeez expressed immense joy on his selection in the squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez was over the moon to have picked in the country’s squad for the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales next month.
