Pakistan are currently battling it out in the three-match Test match series against England in their backyard. The visitors trail the three-match Test rubber while in the final and ongoing match in Southampton, Zak Crawley and Jos Buttler have pummelled Pakistan’s bowling attack.
The Pakistan team management is unhappy with the criticism by former pace legend Wasim Akram during his commentary stint in the ongoing Test series between England and Pakistan.
Akram, who is also part of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) cricket committee, has openly criticised the mistakes of Pakistan Test captain Azhar Ali, which has angered the team management.
Following their three-wicket loss in Manchester in the first Test, former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram reckoned that Azhar Ali missed deploying a few tricks in the game, as far as leadership is concerned.
He lamented allowing the duo of Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes take the game away as the bowlers bowled no bouncers or short-pitched deliveries.
According to sources, the team management and players have expressed their grievances to the PCB officials.
Players believe that Akram should not be harsh in his criticism as he is an important member of the PCB cricket committee.
The board has assured the team management that they will have a chat with Akram regarding this matter.
It must be noted that the PCB cricket committee will submit a report regarding the series after the England tour concludes.
