On may 28th 2017, PCB and ACB came upon some agreements for the betterment of cricket in both regions. PCB had agreed on sending its star players to play in Kabul, Afghanistan for the Shpageeza Cricket League.
However, a tragedy had occurred in Kabul leading to the ACB making a political statement which quoted that the Pakistani’s were behind this blast and they don’t want to keep any friendly relations with PCB anymore.
Following the security and safety reasons, PCB decided NOT to issue NOCs to the Pakistani cricketers and officials who were all set to participate in the Shpageeza Cricket League. Kamran Akmal, Babar Azam and Umar Akmal were signed to play in the Shpageeza Cricket League later this year.
