The former skipper of Australia, Ricky Ponting has thought of his feeling on the youthful Pakistans’ top-order batsman Babar Azam who can enchant his fans through his performance.
Ricky is super excited to see Babar’s performance in white ball cricket. He says that the best is yet to be experienced from his site in test matches.
It would be thrilling to see him in tests and the world of cricket has not seen something exceptional from Babar yet.
“We haven’t seen the best of him yet. Twenty-odd Tests for an average of 35 – he’s better than that. He averages 54 in one-day cricket at a strike-rate of about 90. He’s a very, very classy player. He’s a really exciting talent and probably the guy I’m looking forward to seeing the most this summer. I’ve seen the Aussies a lot and I’ve seen a lot of the Kiwis, but I’m really excited to see him. He could be anything,” the former skipper said as quoted by cricket.com.au
Babar who has risen as backbone of Pakistani batting line-up ranked first in T20s, third in ODIs and fifteen in tests which is due to his consistency in run scoring. Thus for the reason, he is compared to present day cricket legends Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root and Steve Smith.
However, Pakistani players would be wearing white for the first time since the ICC world test Championship has been started. The first round of the two tests series against Australia will begin from 21st of November at the Gabba in Brisbane.
