The much awaited news of Yasir Shah playing county cricket is finally over. After impressive performance in England last year, many experts suggested him to play county cricket which would enable him to improve his bowling skills.
The 31-year-old, signed a 4 match contract with the Kent Cricket Club and will make his debut on Thursday. Yasir Shah has taken 149 wickets in 26 test matches for Pakistan. He is known as one of the best red-ball leg spinner at the moment.
“Yasir is one of the finest spinners in the world” Said Matt Walker, Kent’s head coach.
He went on adding ” Taking 20 wickets consistently in red-ball cricket will be key to our promotion chances and a bowler of Yasir’s calibre will help to us achieve that and rotate our attack at a key period in the season.”
Yasir is dubbed as the next Shane Warne by Shane Warne himself but including Shane Warne, many expert leg spinners suggest him to never stop learning the art of leg spin bowling.
The county cricket experience will help Yasir Shah to work on his abilities and improve his bowling skills which could help him make some way into the limited overs Pakistani side.
