Point To Ponder:

Statistics are not in favor of Pakistan if we exclude the series against Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Scotland & Ireland. Pakistan haven’t won a single bilateral series against the likes of Australia, England, New Zealand. Even Pakistan don’t have satisfactory figures in terms of series against Bangladesh in this tenure. Keeping these statistics in mind we have lost so much in these six years which should have been sorted out by the Board officials.

Achievements:
No doubt Pakistan’s overall performance is below par during this tenure, but we have to keep in mind that Pakistan’s downfall in this tenure is due to controversies they have tackled with throughout this tenure. Pakistan have only played one series against Zimbabwe in Pakistan during this time period. After the spot fixing scandal in 2010, it was very difficult to set the combination of a shattered team, but you have to give credit to Pakistan team for what they have achieved so far. Pakistan team have won second Asia Cup in 2012 under the captaincy of Misbah Ul Haq. Pakistan now proudly holds the record of being only team from subcontinent who have beaten South Africa in South Africa in a 3 match ODI series in 2013-14. Pakistan thrashed India in India in a 3 match ODI series under the captaincy of Misbah Ul Haq.

The biggest achievement for Pakistan during this tenure is winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Pakistan entered in to the tournament as a 8th ranked team and surprised all by beating South Africa. Sri Lanka, Hosts England and Arch Rivals India who were the defending Champions as well.

Conclusion:
As a writer i’m satisfied with Pakistan’s achievements. They havce shown the world that rankings doesn’t matters the most when you have the ability to Rule the Top Seven Teams of the world being at 8th position. With no International cricket at home it is very difficult to compete in International Cricket with top class teams. Although the overall statistics are not in favor of Pakistan but this is the beginning and hopefully we will see a different Pakistan team in limited over cricket in next 6 to 8 years with some better statistics as well.
