On 25th of February, two of the biggest cities in Pakistan played against each other for a place in the playoffs. Two of the most expensive franchises in the PSL battled it out at the Dubai Cricket Stadium.

It was Qalandars vs Kings. The match started with Lahore being put into bat by the Kings. A risk was taken by the Kings by not including Chris Gayle due to his poor form.

Qalandars started well on a difficult pitch, they lost wickets at regular intervals. A good innings from Rizwan and Narine took the score up to 155. Karachi, with a strong batting line up were expected to chase this easily.

Karachi started well with Babar and Mahela. Lahore needed wickets to stay in the contest. A piece of brilliance saw the back of Mahela, Sangakkara and Babar steadied the ship and played a good Partnership.

It was not until the 10th over when Narine struck to get Sangakkara. Karachi were going well until Babar got out after that, two run outs of Malik and Bopara hurt the kings. The Match was getting tense. Both teams were looking for the win. Yasir and Narine were bowling excellent and brought the match in favour of Lahore. Pollard came out to bat, a cool and calm player. He started slowly but gained pace.

The match came down till the last over when Karachi needed 14 runs. It was the inexperienced Aamer Yamin who was going to bowl it. The over started well for Lahore. On the 4th ball, Lahore thought they had won it when Pollard missed the ball and was not out.

But Pollard had other plans, he was calm and composed. Smashed a six with 4 needed of the last ball. Both team owners were praying. The last ball went for a six while Aamer Yamin bowling a length ball and Pollard sending the ball into the stands. Lahore Shocked, Pollard rocked. Pollard became the hero for Karachi.
