The game of cricket has always showed the positive side of Pakistan. The Army has been actively involved in the betterment of this sport. They also have been working with the PCB to bring cricket back to Pakistan.
The PSL final, which was held at Karachi, was over looked by the army and a huge amount of army men were deployed around the stadium for the security of the players.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday announced that all the matches of the next season of Pakistan Super League will be played in Pakistan.
“I am not hoping, I am confident that all the matches of the next season of PSL will be played in Pakistan,” said PM Imran Khan during the ceremony.
All the games of the inaugural season of the PSL were played in the UAE in 2016. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board managed to host the final of the PSL 2017 at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, but not all international stars were willing to travel to the country.
PCB was looking revive international cricket in the country after the unfortunate terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009.
The cricket board saw hosting PSL matches in Pakistan as a source that could pave way for international cricket in Pakistan.
Now, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said on Sunday that future Pakistan Super League matches would be held in Miranshah.
DG ISPR was speaking to media at the National Stadium, where he was present along with the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa to watch the Pakistan Super League final.
He said that it was heartening to see that sports activities were returning to the country, adding that the matches would also be held in Muzaffarabad and Khyber.
DG ISPR Ghafoor said that he spoke to PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani, who was also determined about the idea.
“The way our security forces have worked, it should not be reversed,” he said.
Miranshah Cricket Stadium has hosted a friendly cricket match between Pakistan XI and UK Media XI in September 2017. The match was organized by collaboration of NWA and Peshawar Zalmi.
The match was held in North Waziristan to showcase the good side of the country.
