How much players will get paid in PSL4 and What is the value of each PSL category?

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft was held in Islamabad today ahead of the fourth edition in 2019. All franchises were keen on making the most out of this opportunity by assembling the best possible squads.

Former South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers joined Lahore Qalandars with the first pick of the day while Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will also be part of the squad in the 2019 edition of the league.

The Sixth Team stole the limelight by picking up former Australia captain Steve Smith and former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi during the draft.

Quetta Gladiators’ top pick of the day was West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo while Karachi Kings have brought back fast-bowler Sohail Khan in the side after the pacer’s soliatry season with Lahore Qalandars.

Peshwar Zalmi roped in former Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq while also aquring the services of fierce West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard.

Defending champions Islamabad United beefed up their squad with the inclusion of former England middle-order batsman Ian Bell.

Local and international players taking part in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will get paid according to their categories.

Players were drafted in different categories and will be paid according to this.

1. Platinum (Total Balance = US $570,000):

Teams can have a maximum three players with no more than two local or foreigners. The base price $160,000 and the maximum for one player is $250,000.

2. Diamond (Total Balance = US $270,000):

Teams can have a maximum of three players and the base price starts from $80,000. The maximum one player can get $100,000.

3. Gold (Total Balance = US $180,000):

Teams can have a maximum of three players, with base price $50,000. The maximum a team can pay a player is $70,000.

4. Silver (Total Balance = US $140,000):

Teams can have five players with the base price being $24,000. The maximum for one player is $40,000.

5. Emerging (Total Balance = US $25,000):

Two players can be in a side with prices of $12,000 and $13,000 respectively.

6. Supplement (Total Balance = US $175,000):

This category doesn’t have a maximum and minimum payroll. It’s an additional round, allowing teams to pick extra players as backup. They can pick a maximum of four players from the purse of $175,000. All foreign supplementary round picks will be active members of the squad. All local supplementary round picks may be confirmed as active players at the discretion of the team.
