Season 1

Islamabad didn’t have a stunning start to the tournament as they finished third in the points table. They were able to grab only 4 wins out of 8 matches. They however reached the playoffs. In the eliminator, they were up against Karachi Kings. They won the match by nine wickets. Next up, it was the qualifier against the Zalmis. Islamabad set up a good target which the Zalmis couldn’t chase, meaning they earned the ticket to the first-ever final of PSL. Now it united versus gladiators. United now had to chase the target and they did that comfortably with 8 balls remaining. They now were the winners of PSL season 1.

Season 2

United started the second season as defending champions. They managed to win their first match against Peshawar but later lost to Lahore. They won their next match against Quetta but again suffered a loss against the table-bottoms Karachi through the D/L method. After winning against Peshawar again and losing against Lahore again, they were able to register a win against the Gladiators. Islamabad once again faced Karachi in the eliminator and this time it was the other way around. Kings knocked United out of the tournament.

Season 3

United lost to Peshawar in the start later won against Multan. Then they weren’t able to defeat the gladiators but later won against qalandars in a match that went to the super over. The team then beat Karachi Kings in the next game and qualified for the final. They were now facing the Zalmis. The Zalmis won the toss and batted first, putting a score of 147 which was chased by united. They now were the winners of PSL for the second time.

Season 4

United won the first match against the qalandars then lost the next two games to Multan and Quetta. Next, they managed to win a thrilling match against the Zalmis by 12 runs. They also didn’t disappoint their fans against the match against the kings even though the side was being captained by young Shadab khan. The team managed to reach the playoffs but it didn’t qualify for the finals making them get the third position on the points table.

Season 5

2020 wasn’t a very lucky year for the two times winner. This was the first time in the history of PSL that they weren’t able to reach the playoffs. They did put up a good fight in some of the group-matches but not good enough. They finished sixth on the points table.

Wish them the very best of luck for season six.
