PSL 2017

Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi – Match Preview

The match between the two table-toppers of HBL PSL 2 has been scheduled today at 15:30 Local Time (16:30 PKT). The contest is always amazing when two of the best teams in a league play each other.

Peshawar Zalmi didn’t had a good gear up start when they were beaten by Islamabad United in their first match. In that match Kamran Akmal played a blistering knock of 88 which helped to post a big total but they were still defeated. In their Second match they defeated Karachi Kings by 7 wickets when Eoin Morgan stood up and scored 80. Coming to their 3rd match of the league they played against Lahore Qalandars where they were struggling to get the target of 60 under the spell of Yasir Shah but they bowed well in that match.

However Quetta stood up front when they won an exciting thriller against Lahore Qalandars with a tremendous knock of Rilee Rossouw. They also won the second match against Karachi Kings who were no where close to the win and this time corresponding to the last match Rilee Rossouw was Man of the Match. They tasted the defeat in their  latest match against their Last season Finalist Islamabad United with likes of Shane Watson and Sam Billings Islamabad won that game.

Talking about their meeting in the last season, Quetta have won 2 of their 3 played matches against each other. Quetta must be having some more confidence looking to their past records. Shahid Afridi has the best bowling figures in head to head matches when he took 5-7 against them and this is also the best bowling figures of Last and this year of PSL. Dawid Malan has the highest runs in an individual innings when he scored 60 of 36 balls chasing the target of 130.

Quetta is winning because of their team combination and unity whilst Peshawar are somehow dependent on their top quality players. Kevin Pieterson and Ahmed Shehzad of Quetta needs to stood as they are continuing their failure while Rilee Rossouw is performing his best. On the other hand Peshawar needs Eoin Morgan to continue his form and Shahid Afridi to produce some prodigious spells.

Both teams look balanced on the paper but now we can just wait for an epic thriller.
