Since, the popularity of Pakistan Super League is growing fast among overseas players, in the fourth edition of the tournament, starting from February 14 in Dubai, at least, 40 foreign players are all set to play to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan to entertain the cricket loving crowd.

The 2019 Pakistan Super League will provide a series of firsts for supporters. In the fourth season of the Twenty20 league, which starts in Dubai in February, AB de Villiers will be making his tournament debut.

  • AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Andre Russell, Luke Ronchi, Dwayne Bravo, Rilee Rossouw, Daren Sammy, Kieron Pollard and Dan Christian are some of the foreign stars who will feature in the fourth edition of one of the most popular leagues.
  • Eight of 34 matches will be played in Pakistan with Lahore staging three and Karachi hosting five, including the 17 March final
  •  Pitbull to lead galaxy of stars at the glittering opening ceremony, which will start 2000 Dubai time; Islamabad United to launch title defence against Lahore Qalandars at 2200 Dubai time

Abu Dhabi will host PSL matches for the first time – four in two days – while supporters based back in Pakistan will now get to see regular league season games.

Where finals matches have been played in Lahore and Karachi in the past two seasons, now the franchises representing those two cities will get to play in front of home faithful.

The glittering trophy of the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League was launched on Tuesday as all the six participating teams aimed for the glory in Pakistan Cricket’s biggest event starting on Feb 14th.

The trophy was formally unveiled by chairman PCB Ehsan Mani along with owners and captains of the all six teams participating in the event.

The trophy has been named “The Pakistan Trophy” and, according to PCB, it celebrates the different cultures of Pakistan and the harmony with which they stand together to call the country home.

The league stage comprises of double round-robin stage where all six teams – Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators – will compete against each other twice.

The top four teams from the league stage will move to the playoffs where the top two teams will meet in the Qualifier, the winner of which will move straight-a-way to the final, while the third and fourth ranked teams will clash in Eliminator 1. The loser of the Qualifier and the winner of Eliminator 1 will face each other in Eliminator 2.

The teams for PSL 2019 have been scheduled, and all of them are in high spirits. Six teams are going to take part in the Pakistan Super League 2019.

All six teams are well balanced, highly motivated and best prepared to take the 50,000 full-of- crystal trophy which is a representation of the Pakistani flag in all its sparkling beauty, with crystals one by one rising up as a dazzling green beam and shows off the majestic Shooting Star at the pinnacle.

From the most vibrant franchise Lahore Qalandars to the newest team Multan Sultans to the twice champions Islamabad United and one-time winners Peshawar Zalmi, to the most enthusiastic Karachi Kings to the unassuming twice runners-up Quetta Gladiators, every team promises tooth-to-nail fight for the honours.
