Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the entire world, ended his solo career with third position. Justin Galtin took 100m gold medal while Usain Bolt settled for bronze in the final of World Athletics Championship. Galtin completed this race in 9.92 seconds, Christian Coleman took silver at 9.94 seconds and Bolt ended up in 9.95 seconds. Usain Bolt said after the final race that;
“I have proved to the world I’m one of the greatest athlete.” He added; “I don’t think this changes anything. I have done my part as an athlete, to the sport and show it’s getting better. I can’t be too disappointed. I did my best. It’s hard to be sad with the energy that the crowd was giving me. They stayed and they shouted and they cheered.”
His rival Galtin was in tears, he told that Usain Bolt praised him and congratulated him. He said; “Congratulations, you deserve it.”
Galtin said; “He (Usain) knows how hard I work.” He also appreciated Usain and said;
“Usain is an electrifying character who has run sizzling times, mind-blowing times, and throughout the years he has always kept it classy. He has inspired me to be a faster, stronger competitor. I have only wished every year to be his top rival. We have so much respect for each other. I think people in the media think there is some bitter rivalry where we hate each other but it is actually the opposite. We joke around, we actually have gone to parties together. We keep it low key but it is a gentleman’s rivalry. I have a lot of respect for him. Even me being older than him he is such an inspiration for me.”
Galtin bowed down to Usain after crossing the finish line.
Usain Bolt said before this championship that;
“I will be remembered as unbeatable and unstoppable.” And he will be for sure. He has won Olympic 100m, 200m and 4×100m relay races for the third consecutive time, in 2008. But unfortunately, this honour has been stripped off from him due to his team mate Nesta Carter who failed a drug test which ultimately caused him too. He is one of the sprinters who had never failed a drug test. Beside this, no one other than Usain Bolt had ever won three consecutive Olympic gold medals. He has completed 100m race in 10 seconds 49 times in his career and earned six gold medals. Overall, he has won nine Olympic gold medals and 11 world championship gold medals. His 100m record of 9.58 seconds set in 2009, which is still unbeaten.
His last race will be on coming Saturday and he is the strongest candidate to win that 4×100m.
