The fourth season of the Pakistan Super League will kick off from February 14, With their eyes set on their maiden title, Lahore Qalandars have kicked off preparations in Dubai ahead of the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League.

The first batch of the Qalandars squad that arrived in Dubai on Thursday went to the ICC academy for the first training session on Friday.

Qalandars skipper Mohammad Hafeez also joined the squad and took part in the training session.

Mohammad Hafeez, the new captain of the Lahore Qalandars, is looking forward to provide his team and its fans what they have been missing in the last three seasons: a positive result.

Qalandars finished at the bottom on all three previous occasions of the Pakistan Super League. But the new Qalandars captain is confident that results would be different this time.

“Our team combination is very good. The think tank of Lahore Qalandars have done a good job in picking players,” Hafeez said.

“I’m sure all the players will give their best and deliver according to expectations and provide Qalandars fans something to cheer about…something they have been missing,” he added.

With the PSL season four set to begin from February 14, Lahore Qalandars owner Fawad Rana is already on the move as he featured in multiple videos while promoting his side for the competitive T20 league on Saturday.

Rana Fawad is known for his outspoken attachment to his team, often seen visibly upset or jumping in excitement during the matches of Qalandars.

“I can’t suppress my expressions in cricket, especially when it comes to Lahore. I love Lahore and everything attached to it. So I get too excited during a good moment in the game or even on the team’s theme songs,” he once said during an interview. “I am a common man like anybody else. I don’t know where the cameras are set, and I just go with whatever expression comes to me after I’ve seen a good cricketing moment.”

Rana shared his views about Lahore Qalandars in a video. That immediately went viral on the social networking sites including Twitter.

Fawad Rana, owner of Lahore Qalandars, presented Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah an official T-shirt of the Lahore Qalandars at CM House on Saturday.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he would be glad if Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings play the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi.

He expressed this wish while talking to media just after meeting with a PSL delegation led by Fawad Rana.

He lauded Shah’s role in bringing PSL to Pakistan, particularly to Karachi.

“You took ownership of PSL last year and made it a regular feature of the city,” said Rana in appreciation.

The chief minister told the Qalandars’ owner to start hunting talent from Sindh, particularly from Sehwan, the land of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in whose name he has founded his team.

Shah said that last year only one PSL match was played in Karachi and this year five matches would be played in the city.

“We are very excited to host the matches here and people of this province are anxiously awaiting the events,” he said.

The chief minister provided the delegation assurances that foolproof security arrangements would be made during all PSL matches in Karachi.
