On 24th January, Pakistan under-19 defeated South Africa under-19 in the third Quarter Final of the Under-19 World Cup, by three wickets. South Africa posted a target of 189 runs which Pakistan chased it down with the help of Ali Zaryab’s 74 of 111 balls.
On 26th January 2017, India under-19 defeated Bangladesh under-19 in the Quarter Final in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
After registering a target of 265 , India bowled out Bangladesh for 134 runs in 42.1 overs. Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s spell of 3-18, helped India to cement their place in the semifinals.
Now, Pakistan and India are up against each other in the semi final of the tournament on 30th January.
Pakistan and India have met at five occasions in the under-19 WC. Pakistan have won 3 matches at the other hand, India have won 2 matches. The semi final will start at 2:30 AM (Pakistan Standard Time)
In a pre-match talk, skipper Hassan Khan said that the players are extremely confident and morale is quite high ahead of the India clash. He said that the cricketers are poised to bring home the World Cup this year.
Head coach of the team Mansoor Rana said that the boys have prepared themselves for the match in the five to six days that they were granted by the schedule. The U-19 team is confident about the performance players are going to demonstrate, he added.
Manager of the team Nadeem Khan said that the players are fully aware of the importance of the match and they are “pumped up”.
