Yasir Shah Rescues His Team As Kent Survives

Durham won the toss on thursday and elected to bat first. Yasir Shah was set to make his county debut and said he was very excited towards it and can not wait to perform in the County Championship. His first spell did not go well as he only took 1 wicket for 68 runs in 26 overs. He struggled a bit with the Dukes balls in the first spell.

In second innings when Kent’s top order collapsed, Yasir made 48 runs with the bat but could not help Kent finish the trail. Later in his second spell of the match he took 2 wickets for 94 runs in 19 overs.

Kent while chasing 484, did not seem to be in the game at all as their top order did not stay for long and Yasir Shah again stood long with the bat and helped Kent draw the match. Yasir Shah scored 39 runs on the last wicket.

Kent still remains unbeaten in the Division 2 of the County Championship. Durham earned 12 points while Kent earned 8 points. Kent are now second in the table with 109 points. Ahead of them is Nottinghamshire with 119 points.
